What is it like having a photo session with me?

My #1 goal is to make this photo session experience as smooth and easy as possible for you. I understand that the idea of figuring out a date, clothing, everyone's moods and readiness can be overwhelming. I am here to help you through it.

Online booking makes finding an available date easy - no back and forth emails. If the date you want isn't on the online calendar - message me and we'll figure something out from there.

The clothing - often the most daunting task - I have a very thorough guide to help you, along with Pinterest boards and links to shops I like the most for photo-worthy clothing. I'm also a text away to help, too.

The photo shoot - my sessions are child-led which means we'll prioritize connection, fun, and their mood. Real moments, not staged and your photos will be tailored to your family's personality. Kids have a fun time and dads leave saying, "huh, that wasn't so bad!"

I want to create a photo experience that feels effortless and genuine, while preserving the moments you'll want to return to again and again.

Online booking makes it easy to find a date you're looking for. If the date you need isn't listed, simply email me and I'll see what I can do. Chances are, I will be able to make it work.

You'll choose between several gorgeous general areas around Portland (like the coast or the gorge or simply in town) and based on your questionnaire, I'll determine an exact location that will fit well for your family. If you have a specific spot in mind, list it in your questionnaire, no problem

Next, you'll receive a comprehensive Session Guide that will help you determine clothing and how to get in the right mindset for emotive imagery. It will also give you tips on how to prepare your children.

Sessions will last between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on how the session flows and its location.

What if my kids don't behave? This is a common fear amongst parents.

Kids might have grumpy moments, and THAT'S OKAY!

They can be shy, they can run, they can refuse to follow a prompt, they can take a snack break, they can change their mind seventeen times....I've seen it all, especially as a teacher. WE GO WITH THE FLOW! What I'm really looking is authenticity. I want to capture their personality as it is in this stage of their life. So I guide them, speak their language and go with their flow.

I won't overly pose you into super awkward positions - I'll simply guide you into what looks best in photos while you play and snuggle with your family.

Sessions are meant to be relaxed and to spend quality time with your children. Not a stiffly posed and uncomfortable session. Even dads say afterwards that it wasn't so bad after all.

Once your session is complete, I'll send an online gallery that is password protected. About 2 - 4 weeks after your session you'll be able to download your images.
