Lantern Session near Portland, OR
Lanterns have always been something I love incorporating into photos - something old and nostalgic about them that easily bring light and warmth to the environment.
When I became a preschool teacher at a Waldorf-inspired outdoor school, every November we would celebrate Martinmas by carrying lanterns through the forest at night singing lantern songs. This was served as a reminder that even as nights grow longer and it gets colder, we must always remember our inner light and warmth. We share kindness with one another as St. Martin did when he saw a beggar in the street shivering cold and St. Martin took off his military cloak and with his sword, cut it in two and gave one to the beggar.
So here are some photos from that family photography session near Portland. If you'd like your own lantern session, message me or click here. Hope to see you soon to capture your own inner light.
