Brush Prairie Photography Session

What a cute family this was! This mom reached out to me concerned that her son doesn't like to look at the camera and force a smile. I said no problem, I prefer the candid shots anyway and lean heavily on prompts and games to get natural smiles instead. And that's what we did! And lo and behold we got some pictures of him looking and smiling at the camera - in his own time and way.
If you're remembering photo sessions from when you were a kid (mine were ALWAYS at JC Penny), I remember them being boring, long and uncomfortable. Luckily, lifestyle photography in Portland has become more popular, allowing kids to be themselves: running, playing, and sharing quality time with their parents and siblings. Their personality shines when they are comfortable and relaxed which is my goal for every session.
If you have your own concerns, please reach out to me. I can either help alleviate them, or refer you to a photographer who is best aligned with what you're looking and hoping for. But the first step is to message me and we'll get the wheels turning!
